BIO
Sonny Kleinfield, a former member of the Metro staff of The New York Times, is a freelance writer and author of nine nonfiction books. He was one of the writers on the, "How Race Is Lived in America," series that won a Pulitzer Prize. His story, "The Lonely Death of George Bell," was a Pulitzer finalist, as was a series on diabetes. He has also received the Polk Award, the Ernie Pyle Award, the Meyer Berger Award, the Gerald Loeb Award, the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and the American Society of Newspaper Editors Award, among others. In 2017, he was inducted into the Deadline Club's New York Journalism Hall Of Fame. His work has appeared in Harper's, The Atlantic, Esquire, Rolling Stone and The New York Times Magazine, and been included in many anthologies. A graduate of New York University, he lives in New York.
